The fifth annual farmers fun feed in Chateau was tentatively set for Thursday February 20 after a Saturday meeting at County Agent Robert Clarkson’s office. Due to bad weather seven members attended and approved features like hog and chicken calling contests and a pillow race. Fred Bennion will serve as toastmaster, with plans for music by the American Legion band and acts including a German band. Ticket price remains 1.25 with about 540 to be sold by a roster of community volunteers Allied with decorations and crowd management.

C. K. Malone returned Monday from a week on the Pacific coast where he visited friends and handled business. He noted cold weather in Seattle with icy streets and about three inches of snow. Coast cities are quiet though automobile travel continues as roads from Belton to the coast remain open. Mrs. Malone accompanied him to Whitefish and stayed there visiting her sister Mrs. E. N. Webb.

County Agent Robert Clarkson reports a still undiagnosed illness affecting cattle across Montana with 12 to 15 head dead in Teton county. Cold weather or spoiled hay gas may trigger diarrhea and blood in the stool, resembling hemorrhagic septicemia, though state vet B O Fisher says it is not septicemia. Infant son dies in Bremerton with illness
Word reached here of the death at Bremerton Washington January 2 of five months old Robert son of Mr and Mrs Leslie Benton. The child grandson of Mrs Mary E White of this city who was called to Bremerton for the illness. She arrived shortly before the infant passed away. Death due to intestinal poisoning and pneumonia.
