AAA Activities in 1937 Teton County Agriculture Summary
Farmers in Teton county carried out soil building practices under the 1937 agricultural conservation program. The county planted 1,855 acres to perennial legumes, seeded 8,686 acres to sweet clover, and 765 acres to legume and grass mixtures. Crested wheatgrass was seeded on 731 acres, shelterbelts were planted on eight acres, and 180 acres were used to control weeds. Wind erosion control and moisture conservation covered 15,386 acres with 67,699 acres in plowless or trashy fallow. Green manure crops were grown on 53 acres, and 635 cubic yards of dirt were moved for pits and reservoirs.
