Flathead Buffalo Herd and a Flathead Hunter’s Fate Remembered
In western Montana near the Canada border the Flathead Indian Samuel Walking Coyote and his family tended a buffalo herd. The herd later fed Canada’s parks, as Pablo aided sales and the herd grew to over 10 000. Samuel died after a spree by Higgins Avenue bridge in Missoula. The scene shifts from tepees to irrigated farms and highways today.
