Teton War Veterans Entitled To Preference on Civil Jobs
Montana Attorney General R V Bottomly ruled that honorably discharged veterans of all wars and certain dependents are entitled to absolute preference for state county and city civil service jobs if they meet the required qualifications. Widows of veterans except World War II receive local and government job preference, with handicapped veterans given priority over others when recommended by the state bureau. The ruling upheld that appointing powers may not exercise arbitrary discretion when a veteran is involved.
