Chester Corey Weds Conrad Girl In A Rectory Ceremony

Miss Agnes Skibiski of Conrad married Chester Corey son of Mr and Mrs Clark Corey of Collins last Saturday at Rev James J Sheerin's rectory. Attendants included Miss Dorothy Skibiski and Bert Corey. The couple will live on a farm near Collins after a brief wedding trip.

Seven Marksmen Bring Home Bacon From Trap Grounds

Seven sharp shooters at the VFW trap shoot at Chateau Sun day took top honors with a total of chickens hams and turkeys. In the winning bracket Tom Moore earned five chickens three hams and a turkey while Clark Coffey three hams and one chicken Al Hensley four chickens Bill Gibler three chickens two hams and one turkey Clyde Darby two hams one chicken Pat Campbell two hams two chickens and Bob Geiger Walter two hams one chicken and one turkey. About 70 marksmen competed for top honors.

Annual Meeting Notice for Teton Memorial Hospital Association

The annual meeting of the members of the Teton Memorial Hospital association will be held Monday January 19 1948 at 8 pm in the courthouse courtroom at Chateau Election of three directors and other important business will be conducted. Annual dues of $1 are payable, says secretary A Bernard Gravdal.

Henry Smith Last Rites Held Monday

Henry William Smith 55 a farmer and rancher from 12 miles north of Chateau died Christmas Day in a Great Falls hospital after a brief illness. Services at the Methodist church with Rev. Harold Engdahl officiating. Burial in Choteau cemetery with American Legion Post of Choteau giving military rites. Smith served in the U S Army in France in World War I and is survived by his wife Mary Truchot and four children and three stepchildren plus siblings and cousins from Minnesota and Montana. Pallbearers included Robert Miller Oliver Hanson Jack Slanger Emerick Joramo Joseph Torgerson and Godfrey Torgerson. Relatives attended from Kalispell and other areas.

New Year's Dance At Choteau Tonight

The Choteau Fire Dept hosts two New Year's Eve dances with balloons and noisemakers. Ernie's six piece band plays at Masonic Hall while Ed Cabernette's Rocky Mountain Ramblers entertain at Moose Hall. Tickets allow dancing at either venue and proceeds benefit the volunteer firemen.

Free X ray Mobile Unit To Visit Chateau For Four Days

Hundreds of rural residents and townspeople will register for free tuberculosis examinations next week as a traveling X ray unit comes to Chateau for four days. From Monday to Thursday the unit will operate near the Sturgis annex store serving about 1,400 norther n Teton county residents adults and children from seventh grade up may use the service at no charge funded by Christmas seals. Technicians expect to examine about 80 people per hour with chest X rays and issue ID tags after photography. results and confidential reports follow in several weeks after doctor review. Chateau canvassers will contact homes Friday and Saturday to set X ray appointments led by Marion Warneke with seven area captains and district coordinators listed. Appointment times aim to cover rural and outlying districts. overflow arrangements are noted.

1948 Auto Plates On Sale Friday In Montana

Montana motorists may obtain 1948 license plates starting Friday January 2 at the county treasurer office after presenting vehicle registration at the assessor and paying car tax plus license fee. New drivers exam law begins January 3 with tests required for those lacking 1947 permits. Examinations for state examiners will be announced later.
