Toren Farm House Destroyed by Fire Near Chateau
Lambert Toren’s modern farm home nine miles northeast of Chateau on Farmington beach burned at 2 pm Thursday. The fire gutted the interior and furniture, with only the basement roof and siding remaining intact. Cause cited as defective wiring. owner insured and plans to rebuild on the same site. Neighbors formed a bucket brigade to slow the flames.

Humble Boy Passes Away In California
Jim Humble aged 18, son of Mr and Mrs Charles Jumble of Porterville California and grandson of Mr and Mrs Lincoln Jumble of Bynum, died in Visalia California after a long illness. Born in Chateau he moved to Porterville at age two. He was a senior at Porterville Union High School where he served as photograph editor of the annual business manager of the school paper and treasurer of his class. He is survived by his parents a sister Mrs Margaret Joyce Meyers of Boulder Colorado Funeral services were held Tuesday in Porterville and interment followed at Home and Peace cemetery.

Public Invited To UMT Debate Tuesday Night
The public is invited to hear arguments for and against universal military training at the Chateau high school auditorium on Tuesday night March 4 at 8 p m. World Day of Prayer Service Planned by Teton Women
The Teton Council of Church Women hosts a World Day of Prayer service this Friday at 2 pm at Fairfield Community Church. The 1952 theme Christ Our Hope will be led by Mrs Harold Ginger.
