Remains of Mrs. John Becker Laid to Rest in Bynum
Funeral services for Mrs. John Becker Mary Ann Baker were held Sunday at the L DS church in Bynum with Bishop A S Jensen officiating. Interment followed at the local cemetery. She was born February 26 1890 in Teton Idaho and married John Becker in 1916. Survivors include her husband a son John Pershing Becker two brothers five sisters.

Surprise birthday honors for 84 year old Choteau resident C H Connor
Charley Connor was surprised with a birthday party at the home of Mr and Mrs Henry Robinson on a Wednesday evening. The party marked his 84th birthday and highlighted a long local tradition in Choteau that began decades ago. Montana State College entomologist G. Allen Mail reports prolonged severe cold has little effect on most insect pests in Montana. Tests show grasshopper eggs survive under snow, wire worms and potato bugs endure soil depths, with potential outbreaks in Teton County. Estimated infestation could reach 30 012 acres needing 159 tons of bait, costing about 3765 dollars if purchased.

In the Drumheller Reichhoff site two miles northwest of Chateau the well proved a water-logged sand at 2420 feet with no oil. Drill recovered after a week, and the crew, led by Bert Wheeler, will plug the hole from bottom up in stages. Geologists note oil likely higher on structure, with findings suggesting oil farther north or northeast.
