Hospital Drive Seeks 17000 More In Teton County
Donors push toward a 70000 goal for the Teton Memorial Hospital fund as ground excavation continues at the Chateau site. Through last week a total of 22229 has been raised with 17770 still needed. The drive offers three prizes including a 1100 lb steer and a radio phonograph. drawings take place March 17 at a Moose lodge benefit.

The infantile paralysis March of Dimes campaign in Teton county this year grossed $2599.84. County treasurer Mrs. H. C. Huffman reports expenses of $55.33. Net to be retained by the county is $1272.25, 50 percent, with the same amount sent to the National foundation. Public invited for the grand opening with a Dutch lunch. the lounge will close to non members after Thursday night. More than 50 Chateau business houses donated prizes for a trap shoot on Golf Course Hill this Sunday Feb 29. Chateau Bulldogs win district title for third straight year
Chateau Bulldogs clinched the district 10 basketball title with a 46 31 victory over Fairfield Eagles at Great Falls. Fort Benton finished second after beating Fairfield 41 36, earning a spot in the divisional playoffs at Great Falls March 4 6. The top two from each divisional tournament advance to the state Class B finals at Laurel March 18 20. Chateau previously beat Fort Benton 43 37 and St Marys 39 32 in the tourney to secure the crown.

Funeral Service For Chappy Forgey Held In Choteau
Funeral services for Frances Frances Chappy Forgey 61 former Choteau resident were held yesterday at the Choteau Methodist church after her death in St Ignatius last week. She operated Chappy's cafe in Choteau until 1940 and managed Texaco cabins before the war. She later lived near Flathead Lake and Chateau area with recent years in Dixon. She was born September 19 1887 in Barnsville Minnesota and married James Chapman in 1907 then Grover Forgey in 1932. Her husband drowned in 1940 at Wood's Bay Flathead Lake and body was never recovered. She left a number of cousins and no close relatives. Cremation followed at the Great Falls Mausoleum.

Property assessments for Teton county real and personal property will start at 12 o clock noon next Monday March 1. Assessments will occur at Agawam Schaeffer store on March 2 Bynum Purkett store on March 3 Pendray John Swanson office on March 4 and Collins Waterman store on March 5. The following week the assessor will visit Dutton Power Greenfield and Fairfield on listed dates and returns may be made at those sites or the assessor's Chateau office. Those owning motor vehicles on January 1 1948 should bring registration or relevant details for assessment.
