Sound Finances Need Of All County Schools
More than 100 citizens and officials attended a county school meeting in the Chateau grade school auditorium to hear plans for reorganizing the state educational system and securing sound financing. A 24 member citizen's committee was formed with John Dunckel as chairman and Leo Murphy as secretary to study county school problems, including taxes, funding, transportation, teaching conditions, and personnel, with a final meeting planned for February 25.

Potato Goal Set For 1948 In Teton County
Teton county ACA announces a 152 acre potato goal for 1948 to be distributed to eligible growers planning three acres or more. Lutheran Ladies Food Sale For Hospital

Balance Needed to Build New Hospital in Teton County
The Teton Memorial Hospital association reports a $26,682 shortfall toward a $40,000 goal at mid drive. In two weeks of February, $13,318.15 has been raised as March 1 deadline nears. If raised, $180,000 hospital with $60,000 federal aid could be built. failure could delay grants and affect Montana towns. John Richem plans continued basement excavation weather permitting.

20 Car Loads of Calves Arrive at Choteau Yards
The Peters and Hamilton Cattle Co of Choteau received 20 boxcar loads of Hereford calves shipped from Coalinga California in the San Joaquin valley. Many calves were Montana stock sent to California last fall due to California drought. They have purchased about 1 160 head. The arrivals are healthy but thin from short rations.

Funeral Services Held Today For Mary White
Funeral services for Mrs Mary Ellen White 78 longtime area pioneer were held in the Choteau Methodist church. She died Sunday in Choteau after a stroke and had a history of strokes over six years. Survived by her husband son Ralph of Missoula two daughters Esther Carson Seattle and Blanche Reynolds San Pedro and two brothers George and John Whitney Cincinnati. Burial in Choteau cemetery.

Saga of the Soil shown to hundreds in Dutton and Choteau
Nearly 450 farmers and residents attended the events on February 11 and 13 in Dutton and Choteau. The program by Tesch Implement and S and P Motor Co. featured a color film tracing agriculture from ancient methods to modern practices and its national significance. Door prizes were awarded by S and P Motor Co. in Dutton and by Tesch Implement Co. in Choteau, with lunch provided by local groups.
