Last of Coulson buildings razed
The last old structure at Coulson townsite was torn down by Fred Pierce of the Pierce Packing company to salvage remains. Beechcombers and dump pickers had stripped the building, once partly log and partly frame, which housed a former Coulson saloon. The site, largely used for feeding stock, now hosts shacks for needy families near the river dump. Labor unions in Germany oppose the government's plan to spur business and curb unemployment.
