Teton high swept both ends of a doubleheader defeating Conrad 27 to 20 in the girls contest and 43 to 16 in the boys game. Helen Adams led the girls with 19 points while P Harrison added 14 for Conrad. In the boys matchup Loomis spearheaded the Teton attack as the locals sprinted to a commanding lead.

County Assessor Otto Wagnild announces reintroduction of the honor system for countywide property assessments. The 1928 29 office cost was $5 399.32 versus higher past years, with salaries falling to $4 736 02 in 1929. Assessments begin Monday March 3 at about 15 locations with about 2000 taxpayer notices mailed.

Sievert I. Syse Rites Held After Passing
Sievert I. Syse died last Thursday afternoon at 4:30 at the Chateau hospital from intestinal flu after a week’s illness. Born July 25, 1866 in Beaver Creek Wisconsin, he moved to Kandiyohi County Minnesota as a youth and later homesteaded near Farmington Montana before a period in Canada. Survived by six sisters and one brother, his remains were interred in Farmington cemetery after services at Norwegian Lutheran Trinity Church with Rev. Earl F. Carlson officiating.

County Assessor Otto Wagnild and County Treasurer O G Meadows urge residents to understand Chapter 18 1925 laws liens on personal property and Chapter 171 1929 rules for free tax certificates. They note penalties for late auto tax payments and the need buyers to verify taxes are paid when acquiring personal property after March. Personal property tax share has risen from 11 percent in 1925 to 17 percent in 1929.

At the February Te ton county high school board meeting C. W. Burns was named chairman succeeding J. G. Jackson who resigned. Frank Young became vice president and Mrs. Anna E. Stafford secretary.
