Montana's regular 1942 fishing season opens May 24 and closes November 15, with hours 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. wartime. Daily bag limit is 15 fish or 15 pounds plus one fish, not more than five under seven inches, except perch, sunfish and bullheads limited to 50. Crappie and bream 15 fish or 15 pounds plus one. possession limit equals one day’s catch.
The Farmers' Fun Feed committee met Tuesday afternoon and named committees to organize the annual event on Thursday, March 26. Plans aim to make it a standout program. communities must submit program numbers to the county agent by March 10. The high school home economics department will serve the dinner. Dining Room committee includes Margaret Conlon, Jona Zgoda, Stan Halvorson, Mrs Dave Swenby. Arrangements committee includes Henry Davidson, Walter Dauwalder, Ed Savik, Glen Tabody, Roy Hamberg. Music committee includes Walter Dauwalder, Math Schaefer, Ebert Malone. Program committee includes Stan Halvorson, Margaret Conlon, Glenn Baird. Floor committee includes Leonard Rice, Magnus Bolland, P H McClellan, Ebert Malone, Leo Zins. Door committee includes Fred Phillips, Arnold Hoesch..., Walter Dauwalder, Henry Davidson. Tickets committee includes Ed Savik, Iona Zgoda.
James Christopher Gillagly born Bangor Maine June 25 1860 came to Montana in 1878 with two sisters. He lived with the Galen and Manix families Augusta for thirty years and died February 13 at Chateau hospital. Funeral held by Rev J F Schulte with burial in Augusta. Phil Manix flew from Albuquerque to attend.

Registration of men ages 20 to 45 under the selective service act was completed across the county on Monday. Many previously unregistered Ton county men joined the rolls. County totals await word from Algon Odin, who led Fairfield and Greenfield efforts. Chateau area workers included Miss Alva Larson, Mrs. Bert I. Packer, Spud Moore, Arnold Hanusa, and Joy Van de Riet.
C W Burns was appointed to the publicity committee of the Montana Cowboys Association by Sid Willis. The annual banquet occurs February 28 at 7:00 p.m. in Great Falls Rainbow Hotel with Sheriff A O Peterson also expected. Ladies receive complimentary tickets for Feb 27 and 28 at Civic Center theater. The feature film is Ride ert Cowboy starring Abbott and Costello.
The 1941 wildlife summary for Region One covers seventeen national forests in eastern Washington, northern Idaho, and northwestern South Dakota. It details counts for antelope, bears, deer, elk, moose, mountain goats, sheep, and other species, plus hunter and angler activity, fish planting, and cooperative state projects to transplant and manage game populations.
H M Daley of the Teton Sportsmen Association announced that Bynum reservoir will be open for ice fishing from December 1 to March 14 under state fish and game commission rules and a local resolution. Spring Creek between Claude and Jay Lyons place also reopened for fishing. brook trout anglers are advised.

Members favored wartime activities over pension work if victory depended on Uncle Sam. Officers were praised but relieved of further duties.
