Nellie Cecelia Vigen, 80, died at 7 p.m. Friday Feb 20 at her daughter’s home seven miles northeast of Bynum. Born Feb 8 1862 in McGregor Iowa she moved with family to Minnesota and later to the Red River Valley. Survived by nine of ten children and 42 grandchildren with 17 great grandchildren. Funeral at Chateau Methodist Church with Banks Funeral Home in charge.
The Navy calls for five thousand men with experience in amateur or commercial radio or military radio service. The recruitment centers emphasize prior radio service and proficiency as key qualifications for enlistment.

The plan follows a farm security administration cooperative model with stock at 10 dollars a share up to fifty thousand dollars. The cooperative aims to purchase assets and shares in the Trion Cooperative Reservoir Co and settle outstanding district obligations if priced favorably. Commissioners named include Bert Jensen William Green Calvin Wixom G O Stott.
News reached by radio that Harry Davidson son of Mr and Mrs Arthur Davidson of Fairfield is a prisoner of war He grew up around Chateau and served in the navy about a year ago He was aboard the minesweeper Penguin which was sunk off Guam He is a cousin of Iona Zgoda of Cho
William Fraser 68 a Bole sheepman died from carbon monoxide asphyxiation at his Chateau or Mondeau home after a chimney flue clog. His wife Mrs Fraser remained recovering. They were found by Mr Davis near 10:30 Monday evening and sent to Great Falls. Fraser a Scotland native, moved to Montana after 1900 and farmed since. No children.
James Martin Hanson eleven month old son of Mr and Mrs Martin Hanson died Tuesday at Deaconess hospital after bronchial pneumonia. Funeral services will be at Trinity Lutheran church in Choteau Friday Feb 27 at 2 PM Banks Funeral Home in charge. Survivors include parents and brothers Merle and Harvey.
Marriage licenses issued in the past week include Dale C. Fenner 21 and Marie Loughlin 19 of Augusta. Dale Harold Comales 27 of Geyser and Amelia Frances Swartz 20 of Great Falls.
