Choteau finished 10th among 22 teams at the divisional wrestling meet in Malta. Doug Forrest 112 pounds won three of five to place third and advance to the state championship in Bozeman. Forrest lost 16 15 in the semifinals to Terry Swart of Simms.

Fire Damages Chateau Home in Tuesday Blaze
A Tuesday afternoon fire at the Patricia Hamiltons home caused interior damage but was confined to a bedroom and kitchen. Firemen wearing masks entered the smoke filled building and a second hose helped extinguish the blaze through a window. Fire Chief Art Anderson said the origin was undetermined and that longer exposure would have worsened damage.

American Legion Dance Raises 750 for Hospital Funds
Last Saturday the American Legion Post hosted a hospital benefit dance drawing about 300 attendees at the Legion hall. Chairman Ray Weist reported a net of 704.25 with 45.75 donated by the Legion to reach 750 for the Hospital Board. Donations from residents and organizations followed Mrs. Ray Scott’s appeal for 30 contributions, aiding Teton Memorial Hospital’s needs and potential sprinkler system study. Donors listed include Nettie McDonald, Dr. Donald Bosshardt, the Corral, and Choteau Drug.
