Arod Lakes Ice Fishing Season Ends February 28
The Arod Lakes area between Chateau and Brady will close to fishing after Sunday February 28 and reopen the second Sunday in June for summer fishing. Spearfishing for northern pike remains allowed in Lake Francis, Pishkun, and Split Rock until March 31. Officials warn of unsafe ice from recent warm weather and urge caution before going on the ice.

Mrs Marguerite Slater died after illness, funeral today at Augusta Community Church at 2 p m with Rev Edward M Ferguson officiating. Burial in Augusta Cemetery. She was born January 12 1899 in Britton South Dakota and lived in Augusta after nursing training in Great Falls. She was married to Blondie Slater May 15 1939 and survived by siblings and several nephews and nieces.

Four Arrested in Local Burglaries This Week
Teton County Sheriff Albert Becker reported over $600 in merchandise recovered after four Augusta area youths were arrested. Items stolen from H and H Implement and V and J Appliance plus a Monty McFarlane car were recovered. A 20 gauge shotgun was missing since Nov. 4. Burglaries on Jan. 16 and Jan. 23 totaled $710. The four suspects were turned over to county authorities.
