Rural electrification funding boosts Sun River project
Senator Wheeler announced an extra 17000 from the Rural Electrification Administration to start spring work on the Sun River Electrification association. The plan covers 300 nearby families across Fairfield Simms Fort Shaw Sun River and Vaughn with a 90 mile distribution from Ashuelot to reach about 291 customers.

Mrs Burbank Injured In Fall At Home
Mrs A C Burbank slipped while hanging clothes Saturday and broke her right arm and right thigh near the hip. Neighbors including Dave Anderson aided her before she was taken to Maynard Hospital where she was reported doing well given the serious injuries and her advanced age. Mr Burbank was away at the time.

Mail Delays Hit Rural Routes After Snowbound Trains
Snow blocked roads and rails halted service across Chateau and nearby towns. Great Northern and Milwaukee trains could not reach Great Falls while a Great Falls Coach Lines bus stalled near Ashuelot. A Pendroy line train plowed into a snow cut and remained tied up overnight, with relief engines delayed until Saturday.
