Teton County Plans Bid Decisions and Fire Truck Purchase

Teton County Commissioners opened bids for airport improvements with no award yet and have 30 days to decide. They accepted Superior Fire Apparatus Co. of Helena for an $8,389 fire truck to replace the rural unit, with a second bid from Howe Fire Apparatus Co. for $11,137.99 not chosen. A late bid was not opened. Superior will deliver for testing and approval this Friday.

Corbett Angus Ranch Set to Sell 110 Animals on Feb 25

Corbett Angus Ranch will hold its second production sale Saturday February 25 at 12 30 p m at the ranch south of Chateau. The sale will include 110 head 70 yearling bulls and 40 bred heifers with Pat Goggins Billings as auctioneer.

Former Resident Dies in Washington at 76

John D. Pambrun, 76, died in Yakima Washington on February 8. Born July 12, 1890 at the old Fran cis Truchot ranch north of Choteau, he was the son of John B. and Kate Malatarre Pambrun. Survived by widow Louise LaRance of Chateau and daughter Ella Rider. Grandfather Tom Pambrun arrived in 1867 and wrote freight wagons between Deer Lodge Helena and Fort Benton, meeting fur traders at Fort Benton.

Explorer Scouts Plan Spaghetti Dinner Saturday

City to Remove Old Car Bodies From Premises

Public works superintendent Bob Erickson said he found a country site for disposing of abandoned car bodies. Choteau residents may contact Erickson to have the city crew remove bodies from their property. Last fall about twenty five bodies were cleared from the city.

Style Show Plans Progress Amid Hospital Fund Drive

Two area crashes were logged by Highway Patrolman Ray Farrell. On Feb 4 Bet ty Rae Ginther of Augusta lost control on Highway 287, rolled her Volkswagon, and was bruised but not seriously hurt. $700 damage and fines for learner permit violation and failure to report. Teton Collectors Guild forms in Bynum meeting

A Feb 9 meeting at Trex's Agate Shop in Bynum organized a rock and mineral club naming the Teton Collectors Guild. Officers installed were John Brandveld president Barbara Ballard secretary treasurer and Phyllis Friesen group coordinator.
