Ten Montana Power employees fought bitter cold and ice to repair a 20 inch natural gas line leak between Cut Bank and Butte as gas loss reached 3 to 4 million cubic feet daily. The team traced the leak 10 miles south of Chateau through swampy terrain, locating a frozen drip valve. they alerted for assistance and continued work despite frigid temps.

Peggy Corbett daughter of Mr and Mrs Bryan Corbett of Choteau and Lyle Martin of Chinook were married last Wednesday January 31 by a Great Falls justice of the peace. Witnesses were Mr and Mrs Ray Mollar. She is a senior at Choteau High School. He was employed with a Seismograph unit at Choteau and the couple left for Casper Wyoming where he will be employed in the oil fields.

Elsie Holombo, former VFW operator in Great Falls, plans to open the Cornell cafe in Chateau soon. If equipment arrives, the cafe will open next week with an open house offering free coffee and doughnuts. The restaurant will host banquets and special events, with hours 6 a.m. to 2 a.m., seven days a week. All local help will be employed.
