Forest officials report damages of 8561.00 and total season expenditure of 20982.0 on the Lewis and Clark National Forest. Major losses include 3572.0 in merchantable timber and 3221.0 in young growth. Acres burned total 2568 with 14 fires, several near Glacier National Park, Dearborn and Arlow fires among the largest. Recommendations urge more funding, better communications, more lookouts, smoke chasers, and pasture fences. eight lookouts operated in 1929.
