Bob Maynard led the Choteau Independents with 25 points as they trounced the Dutton Firemen 70 to 40 on the local court. The Choteau squad then defeated Great Falls Independents 87 to 47, solidifying a 2 1 record in Triangle League play. LaVerne Dahlin scored 18 in the Great Falls win while Dirty Dick Nordhagen and Dahlin were notable for Choteau. Halftime was 24 13 and a 19 point final period widened the gap.

Teton county farmers must file income tax returns for 1948 by January 15, 1949, according to Thomas M. Robinson, Montana internal revenue collector. Hab Moore Hurt In Icy Fall On Bain Street
Hab Moore of Chateau slipped on an icy street yesterday and broke a collar bone. He was taken to Columbus hospital this morning with limited feeling in one arm. Earlier reports noted other injuries including hip and wrist bruises, while a leg injury worsened later. Mrs. B I Packer also fell on Bain street last week and is recovering after multiple fractures.

City council boosts license fees and authorizes permits
