Former County Agent Teaches VA Farm Management Course

Choteau hosts a veterans on the farm training program supervised by Earl W. Bjork of Chinook. The course, funded by VA under the GI bill, covers farm accounting credit and management with 200 hours classroom and 100 hours individual instruction. First class had 16 veterans. classes meet Tue and Thu with flexible timing and optional on-farm sessions.

Van Cleave Resigns as Teton County Clerk and Recorder

V Earl Hollar of Teton County is appointed county clerk and recorder by the board of county commissioners to succeed James Van Cleave who resigns effective yesterday. The resignation followed a deputy state examiner report calling the clerk and recorder negligent in handling duties. Hollar, a local school board member and secretary of the Sportsmen's association, previously supervised CCC work and served with the forest service. Sheriff Al Peterson has not named a successor to Hollar as undersheriff.

The Kitchen Kities 4 H club met at the sixth grace room last week. A surprise birthday party was held for Helen Davison Patsy Edwards and Laura Ann Olsen. Games were played and refreshments served. The group decided to move meetings to the first Saturday of each month.

Two Basketball Games Slated at Choteau This Weekend

Choteau hosts two weekend games with the Choteau Dutton town team meeting an opponent this Saturday and Choteau high school facing Belgrade high school next Tuesday at the high school gym. Last weekend the Choteau town team beat Augusta 40 to 21 and Valier 34 to 30, while losing 46 to 32 to Conrad Marshall Wells.

Moose Range Opens Sundays for Marksmen
