The 1950 census preliminary figures show nearly the same number of farms and acres in Teton county as in 1945, but the average farm and building value has doubled. The data were compiled by the Bureau of the Census district office at Chateau under Robert Maloney, outlining county agriculture.
A drawing to allocate 50 elk hunting permits is set for Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Chateau courthouse. Eligible hunters with big game licenses may apply for one permit and learn the area boundaries and rules for the elk season from Dec 23 to Feb 28.
