Milwaukee Road Pays Property Tax To 25 Counties
Milwaukee Road paid the first installment of its 1967 property tax bill totaling 1 275 433 98 to 25 Montana counties. The second installment will be paid in May next year. The state tax rose about 15 percent from 1966, with Mineral Fergus Missoula and Rosebud counties receiving the largest sums. Schools receive about 60 percent, and the funds fund state and local government services and Montana highways bridges and airports.
