George Twedt Injured In Night Auto Runover Near Bole
George Twedt well known farmer of the Bole district was run over Saturday night about 11 o clock on a country road southwest of Bole. He rode home from Bole on a horse and fell in the road. Florence Stofflet and her mother were in the auto and could not avoid striking him. Twedt was taken to Chateau hospital with head and shoulder injuries and possible skull fracture.

Christmas Party Promised by Woman's Club Next Tuesday

Masonic Party Draws About 150 Guests for First Social Event
About 150 attended the first Masonic social of the season on Saturday night. A banquet started the evening, followed by a dance. Dr H W Bateman chaired the arrangements, with high praise from all sections. The next party is set for January 18 with Frank Stearns as chairman.

Bulldogs Open Season With Win Over Cascade
In the opener at the local gymnasium, Teton high beat Cascade 26 to 16. Jack Core led Teton with four first quarter baskets and finished with strong scoring, aided by Yeager and Smith. Cascade rallied in the third quarter before Teton regained control, while both teams showed early season shooting struggles and a lively crowd attended. A preliminary girls contest ended tied 12 to 12 between Reds and Whites. Power high game slate both boys and girls next.

Material Needed for Christmas Boxes
Miss Margaret Nagle has begun the annual Red Cross effort to prepare Christmas boxes for the county's needy and infirm. Local merchants and others have donated generously, but more materials are needed. Canned goods fruits vegetables and baked items are welcome. A special effort will remember elderly residents and also aid needy children. Last year 60 boxes were sent. this year hopes to match that total.

Juniors Present 1 Act Plays At School
Three one act plays by the junior class drew strong audience praise at the high school auditorium last Thursday. The Marriage Proposal directed by Miriam Barnhill starred Bernard Toenyes Margaret Allison Milo Hodgkinson with notable makeup. The Valiant set in a Connecticut penitentiary office featured Charlies Rose and Joel Olson among a strong supporting cast. Game Body Re-Opens Three Elk Areas but not Sun River Region
Montana fish and game commission authorized Warden Kenneth MacDonald to open elk hunting in Park county near the firing line as the northern herd departs Yellowstone by winter snows. The sun river country in Teton county stays closed. An open season is set for a part of the Little Belts near Utica until Jan 15 to reduce the herd by 75 head. A split open season in Carbon county aims to trim the herd by 25 head.

December 14 Deadline for Rogers Memorial Fund

So far donations are sparse with only a few local contributors listed, and the commission stresses friendship over politics while noting tax deductions for gifts. Turkeys Shipped in County Christmas Shipment Totals
A Teton County Shipping Association Christmas shipment moved 23 357 pounds of turkeys to 66 growers. Prime birds weighed 19 383 pounds yielding 3 064 58 dollars, choice birds 3 135 pounds yielding 434 46 dollars, and commercial grades 842 pounds yielding 92 62 dollars. Weights by class include prime young and old birds, choice birds, and commercial birds with various tonnage totals and cents-per-pound advances. Grading was by H J Moon of Pendroy and the shipment was praised as satisfactory though smaller than last year due to readiness and a lower county turkey population.

Choteau Man Hurt When Porch Falls During House Move
Gordon Tryon was seriously injured Sunday at about 11:30 am while moving a house from Third Avenue southwest to the Cowgill addition in Choteau. A porch collapsed onto him as he watched for a car, and he was rushed to Choteau hospital with possible leg and rib injuries and a punctured lung. He plans to remodel the former Miller house for a new home and has a family.

In a Monday session at Mrs. C. D. McDonald’s apartments, the American Legion auxiliary voted to prepare three Christmas boxes for local needy families with veteran family preference. Pine Trees Placed On City Sidewalks For Christmas Look
City firms plant evergreen trees along sidewalks to beautify the town for the holidays. Work began last week and continues daily as wind disruptions occur. To stabilize trees cement holes are drilled for trunks about three inches in diameter with council permission. The effort spreads through the town.
Red Cross Roll Call Exceeds County Goal
The Teton county Red Cross chapter led by Miss Margaret Nagle reports the county met its 100 member quota at one dollar each. The campaign started November 1 and officially ended on Thanksgiving day with a full report to follow.
