Prominent Choteau Girl Weds Army Engineer in Spokane
Miss Mary Sulgrove of Chateau and Captain C. H. Chorpening of Fort Peck wed in Spokane Episcopal church after traveling from Chateau on Monday. Chorpening, a West Point graduate with a civil engineering degree, has served as an overseas engineer in 1918 and later with Army Engineers in various locales. The couple planned a honeymoon trip to the coast and a return visit to Chateau before settling at Fort Peck.

The Woman's club literary group met at Mrs R J Crary's home with about 10 members. Mrs Crary named chairman and Mrs Clarence Tooney secretary treasurer. Monthly meetings were set for the first Tuesday with a season plan including book reviews plays and poetry through May.

Turkeys to be Shipped This Weekend by Teton County

Epworth League hosts Thanksgiving service at church
Under Miss Ruby Miller guidance the Epworth League of the Methodist church held a Thanksgiving service at the church last Thursday. A B Guthrie of Teton county high school delivered the main address in place of the pastor Rev Edwin Dover. The program featured hymns prayers readings and a tribute bouquet to Mrs JL McLean presented by Mildred Louise Nelson marking her service to league work.

Elk Season May Be Prolonged In Teton
State game commission in Helena considers reopening the elk season in Teton county for fifteen days or more after it closed December 1. Forest Service likely to approve as elk kill this season was abnormally light and a larger harvest is believed needed to keep elk numbers within winter carrying capacity. Sportsmen await the decision.

Commissioners in Session Pass Hospital and Health Appointments
County commissioners hold their December meeting and award the hospitalization contract for the poor to Chateau hospital. Dr. H. W. Bateman is named county physician and Dr. E. B. Maynard becomes county health officer. Other actions include burial contracts, registrars appointments, school board trustees for terms of Adams Robison Swanson, and printing contracts. The poor farm contract was let in September.

Institute in Ghoteau Draws Many Teachers
A one day teachers institute drew 54 grade school teachers from across the county under County Superintendent Inez Eckford with lectures by Miss Alice Mattson and Miss Marguerite Hood. The event lacked musical numbers but offered extensive outlines and materials. Local Montana Educational association duties followed a noon luncheon at Chateau hotel with Lawrence Walker named president for the year. Delegates to the mid winter assembly were named and a large majority of county teachers have now attended an institute.

Father of Mrs Hansen Dies on Thanksgiving Day
Nels Stenson 81 father of Mrs O Hansen, died Nov 28 at Columbus hospital in Great Falls after a prolonged illness. Born Sept 23 1854 in Tellemarksen Norway he emigrated aged nine and helped pioneer Wisconsin then Minnesota. Survived by wife Clara Cole and children George Courtney H C Shafroth J F Vanstrom C F E Stenson Francis Stenson funeral held in Great Falls at Highland Cemetery.

Tax deadline spurs big rush to remit interest and penalties
County Treasurer Elmer C. Smith and staff faced a last minute surge as taxpayers rushed to meet the December 1 remission deadline. Current and delinquent tax payments pushed total receipts toward an estimated 260000, with delinquent collections projected around 70000. Delinquent irrigation assessments were canceled, brightening the county’s 1934-1935 tax picture.
