Tennant Boy Struck by Auto Near Beaupre Corner
Terry Tennant eight year old son of Mr and Mrs George Tennant was struck by a Franklin car driven by Adams of Conrad as he dashed from a parked vehicle near the Beaupre hotel toward the Rexall drug corner. He survived with scratches cuts and a forehead welt, X rays showed no fracture. The driver and his wife stayed at Chateau hospital for observation. The incident sparked talk of curb parking restrictions at the Beaupre corner.

Slayer of Wright on Train Receives Life Imprisonment
A Conrad district court jury found H. Groves and Harry E. Miller guilty of first degree murder in the slaying of John E. Wright on a freight train between Shelby and Great Falls on Sept. 19. The jury recommended life imprisonment with sentence set for December 1. Local officials identified Groves as the assailant carrying a flashlight and pistol during the hold up.

Turkeys Shipped From Teton For Christmas Trade
About 33,862 pounds of turkeys were shipped from Teton county last week via the Northwest Turkey Growers association for Christmas. An advance of about 70 percent of the birds’ value was paid to growers, totaling 5188.20 dollars, with a second check planned after final returns. Prime and choice birds accounted for about 80 percent, and the new federal grading system was used for the first time, requiring leg bands on prime and choice birds.

Two Choteau Girls Win Honors at State Varsity
Mary Sulgrove and Ethel Morgan of Choteau are named among pledges to the Women's Athletic association at the State university in Missoula. The announcement came at the association’s Christmas party where awards, including class numerals, were presented to 12 freshmen, including the two Choteau graduates. Mrs. B. B. Core of Butte, with her son G. C. Core in Chateau, suffered a paralytic stroke and is in serious condition.

Calves bought for 4-H Sun River club beef project
Nine Hereford calves were chosen at Lowry by Associate County Agent D P Thurber with Montana State college staff for the Sun River project. Calves from Teton Land Company were selected from 435 offered for 4 H boys and girls including Howard and Alice Ripenberg Jas Graves Billy Graves Olaf Norheim Glen Austad A L Meyer Jr and Merle Baldwin. The group totals 13 calves on Fairfield bench to be fed this year and shown at the Great Falls fair next year. Thurber notes the plan mirrors last year’s feeding trials and anticipates a fall sale with results publicized.

Mother of G. C. Core Dies at Chateau Home
Mrs. Bertie B. Core mother of G. C. Core Chateau postmaster died shortly after midnight Wednesday in Chateau after heart trouble and paralysis. Born in Red Oak Iowa April 13 1861 she was 69 years eight months. Funeral Friday at 10 am from the Core home with Rev. E R Kaemmer in charge. Survivors include her son three grandchildren a niece and two sisters.

Livestock Feeders’ Day Held On Sun River Project
The first livestock feeders day on the Sun River project drew about 100 farmers last Thursday. Demonstrations at Meyer Austad and Baldwin farms covered feeding trials, grading, and purebred versus scrub livestock with contests won by O J Oskness W E Graves J E Young and T H Kolste. Prizes included cash, overalls and a tie with local merchants donating awards. The event aims to become an annual affair.
