Riscilla Bergen daughter of Mr and Mrs Lloyd Bergen Dutton was named 1972 Teton County Junior Miss at the ninth annual pageant held Sunday at Chateau High School She will compete for the Montana Junior Miss title in Kalispell later this year Gwen Gormley the 1971 winner crowned her. Bergen earned multiple honors including Scholastic achievement Poise and Appearance and Creative and Performing Arts with a tie in Creative and Performing Arts shared with Sherie Stengrimson. Bergen plans to study music at the University of Montana.

On display at the Choteau Public Library Art Corner are paintings by Mrs. Ronald Otness and Mrs. Walter Arensmeyer. Otness, painting for 15 years, works in oils pastel chalks with acrylic her favorite, and is exploring landscapes and sculpture. Arensmeyer uses oils, watercolor, and pen and ink with oil as her preferred medium. Both have shown in Helena and Cut Bank venues, and Otness is invited to the fourth annual C. M. Ranger Bob Richmond outlines annual rules for cutting one free Christmas tree in the Teton District of the Lewis and Clark Forest. Permits are free at the Forest Service office in Chateau through December 23 and offices operate weekdays plus Saturdays December 4 and 11. Regulations prohibit commercial cutting, limit one permit per family, ban cutting within 300 feet of roads and key sites, require thinning preference, forbid topping large trees, and set stump height to three inches. Areas closed include the South Fork and North Fork Teton River drainages below Waldron Creek.

Clement Rites Held Tuesday In Banks Chapel
Funeral services for Flora Rose Clement 85 of Choteau were held Tuesday at Banks Chapel with Rev. Marlow Engberg officiating. Interment followed at Crown Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Clement died Sunday at Titus Memorial Hospital after several weeks as a patient. Surviving are her husband Chester Clement two daughters Mrs Dorothy Rehrr of Choteau and Mrs George Imbard of Bellevue Washington and two grandchildren. Relatives from Bellevue Washington attended.

Sale of Seats For Basketball Season Begins
Season reserved seats for 1971 72 Chateau home basketball games are held for fans who bought seats previously. Reservation ends Tuesday Dec 7 at 4 30 p.m. Afterward the section opens to all fans. Reserved seats cost 9 per season and are available from players or at the high school office. Receipts are exchanged for tickets at the office. Wrestling season tickets cost 6 each. General admission remains 1 for adults and 50 cents for students district wide. Free season tickets for all home athletic contests are available to fans over 65 from the Superintendent.
