Ice boating draws residents with five from Choteau and Fairfield already owning boats and three more under construction. International class boats cost about 350 dollars to build. plans are available from Phil Voorhees. Current builders include Voorhees Arvid Sunder and Ed Alzheimer. Owners include Bill Breen Jim Weinert Jerry Torgerson Bud Fee and Bud Schrock. Ice boats operate on Freezout Lake and need a wind of about six miles per hour. Enthusiasts aim to form a club and assist newcomers.

Grosath Services Held on Tuesday
Clarence A. Jack Grosath 71 died Monday at his Chateau home. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at Zwerneman Mortuary with Rev. Allen Adams officiating. Cremation followed at Great Falls. Grosath born May 9 1900 in North Dakota was a construction worker before retiring. There are no known survivors.

Capers annual event draws four hundred attendees
About 400 people attended the Capers program held last Saturday night featuring comedy and music. Chamber officials thanked participants and volunteers including light operators and attendees. Prizes were awarded to listed individuals and groups with prizes supplied by the Choteau Chamber of Commerce and KOA Kampground.

Robert M. MacIntyre died in a Missoula hospital Tuesday night November 23 following a heart attack. He was 45, husband of the former Sydney Forrest of Choteau, and father of four daughters Anne Rebecca Carolyn and Jan and a son John. Funeral services are expected Friday in Missoula.

Former Local Man Killed in Car Crash Near Alexandria
Robert Joseph McLaughlin 20 of Great Falls died in a one car accident near Alexandria Minnesota days after returning from Army service in Vietnam. He married Susan Sandefur Jan 6 in Choteau and is survived by his widow, infant daughter Tina, his parents, and eight siblings. He served two years in Vietnam as a heavy equipment mechanic and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Alexandria. Burial with military honors was in Choteau Cemetery after a rosary at St. Gerard's Church in Great Falls.

Fire Extinguished After Seven Day Hutton Saw
The flash pile fire at Hutton Sawmill north of Choteau burned a full week starting last Saturday and was put out Saturday morning. Choteau FPendroy and county rural departments, plus Dutton Fairfield Power units, fought the blaze with a blower, pits, water from an irrigation canal, and cooling trucks. About 4 000 to 5 000 gallons of water were used with no monetary loss reported, though extinguishing costs are not yet available.

County Attorney Receives Ruling on Nepotism Charge
