Jobo Hall and Z O Johnson prepare ground for spring seeding while James Hanan and Son keep a full fall plow schedule.
On Monday, Nov 30, Judge Ewing held court with eight county jail prisoners arraigned and pleading guilty. Cases include Joe Clark for burglary and Dexter for train wrecks, plus six more for burglary, robbery, and stolen property. Final citizenship papers granted to five foreigners. several petitions deferred. a restraining order case continued. a woman from Conrad declared insane and sent to Warm Springs.
A total of probably fifteen Teton county teachers took the examination last Friday and Saturday to secure certificates. There were two at Choteau eight at Shelby and perhaps as many as five at Great Falls. All papers are being graded by the examining board in Choteau but final results have not been arrived at in all instances as the papers were slow in reaching Choteau from the other points.
Census figures for Teton county show 127 school age children, excluding Indian children, up from 1197 last year. The jump indicates rapid population growth with 75 schools listed, including the newly established district 26 in Collins.
The U S Department of Agriculture reports 25 percent of National forest revenue for the year ended June 30 amounted to 506194.84 dollars, up 70192.03 from last year. States receive allocations including Arizona 51220.38 and California 60752.91 with Washington at 23671.89 and Oregon at 339635.87.
J S Gordon in the offer of the United States collector of customs departs Sweet Grass for Eastport Idaho where he has been transferred. He plans to return in two weeks for his family and then become a permanent Eastport resident. Friends note his long local impact and two children Edgar and Helen will leave Sweet Grass School.
J M Ryan of Conrad and J W Shields of the Commercial club met in Chateau to discuss county division. Committees will probe conditions and gauge sentiment, planning to work for county division at the upcoming state legislature session with no county seat issue yet on the table.
A telegram to the Sweet Grass sheriff reported a man found in a dying condition and requested immediate sheriff and coroner presence. County Attorney Gray and Coroner Connor departed for the scene. no further details yet received.
Selling Off Sheep in Sweet Grass Montana reports 421 head shipped through Coutts and Sweet Grass on November 15 by Jesse I Paylor of Choteau Montana. About 15 000 head have crossed into Canada this season with Calgary Edmonton Alberta and Saskatoon Saskatchewan as major destinations. Beaupre O Neil and Buckley are among large traders and Brown Root Ferguson of Ponoka Alberta bought 600 sheep recently from Beaupre O Neil and Simms.
The weather bureau notes September showed no large precipitation excess overall with some regional wet spells. Montana reported the wettest month since 1909 at Babb near the Canadian border, while Colorado Wyoming the Dakotas and Montana saw some snow and variable storm activity across the state.
Farmington Halvor and Martin Hanson came home from Belt last Friday. Miss Josie Peterson visited Great Falls from Thursday to Sunday. Tom Tarsdale left for Conrad Sunday and will stay on his claim before heading to Kalispell. Alfred Schibstead and Inrank, Everett and Claude Pierce returned Monday after a week hunting in the mountains with three deer. Rev. Wachsmuth of Great Falls conducted services on the Bench Sunday. Olaf Lindseth and Lars Nasser hunted in the mountains last week. Schultz’s father in law from Idaho arrived on the Bench last week.
The Montana Mining Company led by Alex Burrell goes before the U S Supreme Court in Washington D C on appeal after four prior reviews. The latest trial before the U S Circuit Court of Appeals settled in favor of the St Louis rival, marking a key stage in the ongoing dispute.
Yesterday was the final day for paying taxes for the year 1910. The delinquent list will be a long one. A number of the leading enterprises of the county failed to come through with their taxes and are consequently up against penalty and interest as delinquent.

James J. Hill allied interests and Montana growers organize a large exhibit of state products for the Western Land Products show in Omaha January 18 to 28. L. W. Buckley travels from Alaska to collect exhibits and persuade eastern farmers to relocate to Montana and nearby states.
A large crowd gathered at Choteau for a Farmers Institute but travel difficulties due to severe weather left instructors Prof Shaw and Mr Metcalf stranded in Collins with only a stage as transport. The afternoon session was abandoned, an evening session proceeded on dairying, and the group planned onward to Farmington.
