State Coroners to Organize Montana Association Set in Great Falls
G L Banks acting secretary will convene coroners from across Montana next Wednesday at Hotel Rainbow Great Falls to form a statewide association. Meeting to elect officers draft a constitution and bylaws review current laws and propose a legislative committee to study statutes governing coroners offices and authority.

Swim Class Hosts Full Day of Activities at Chateau Park
Children from Fairfield Choteau Dutton and Augusta join a Red Cross led program Friday August 19 at Chateau Park. Morning races and games start at 10 with a picnic and awards in the afternoon. Last Rites Today For A J Sundet Fairfield Farmer
Funeral services for Aunt J Sundet, 75, Fairfield, will be held at the American Lutheran church in Fairfield at 2 pm with Rev. E E Tollefson officiating. Burial will be in Fairfield cemetery. Sundet died at the Teton Rest Home Sunday after a three year illness. He was born in Norway September 13 1879 and emigrated to the United States in 1894, later living in Minnesota McCone county Circle and finally Fairfield where he farmed until 1945. He married Gerda Maria Stromberg at Sidney in 1923 and survived by three sons Arvid Brady Oren Great Falls and Carrol Fairfield a daughter Audrey Hunter Great Falls and three brothers Pete rookston Fertile Minnesota.

By Monday the Gallatin Valley and GTA elevators saw new harvests with 62 lb and 61 lb lots. Managers note potential car shortages but plan to store wheat in farm bins while awaiting rail cars. Crop prospects across Montana appear strong with above average yields projected and ample soil moisture. Continued harvest activity expected as county awaits full swing of Teton fields.

The Chateau schools announce the 1955-56 year starts Thursday September 1 with registration for all students except seniors on that day and seniors the next day due to harvest needs. Freshmen from outside Teton county bring eighth grade reports. Kindergarten begins September 1 with hours 9 to 11 30 morning and 12 50 to 3 20 afternoon.

Hundreds Attend Elks Picnic in Choteau Park
About 900 Elks of BP.OE. No. 214 in Great Falls and families traveled to Choteau city park for an annual outing featuring pantomime acts by the 3-D club, a wrestling card, dancing to the 3-D orchestra, Shetland pony rides for children, and potluck refreshments.

Henry W. L. Swan of the city paid a $10 fine for not possessing a driver’s license. Hughbert E. Trembiey of Riverton Wyoming paid a $10 fine for working while unlicensed and for operating a vehicle without a Montana license plate. John W. Robert Joseph Bohler 93 of Augusta died after illness. He was born May 6 1862 in Newark New Jersey and came to Virginia City in 1863. Funeral Requiem Mass conducted by Rev Thomas Gannon at the Catholic church Augusta. Body sent to Inglewood California for burial. Banks Funeral Home arranging.

Two Farm Fires Quickly Extinguished
Two farm fires were reported but caused no major damage. A grain elevator on the W F Arensmeyer farm narrowly escaped destruction after Bill Arensmeyer and Leslie Chalmers quickly extinguished smoke caused by faulty wiring. On Monday Lake Van Brunt’s tractor caught fire during refueling. water was available and used to stop the blaze.

Truck overturns near Bynum injuring Pearson children
A motorist passing a two ton Pearson truck hooked the rear bumper on a curve south of Bynum at 9 15 p m causing the truck to overturn into a barrow pit. Eight people in the truck including six children escaped serious injury. Yaeger of Great Falls was charged with reckless driving and driving with no license. Damage estimated at 400 dollars.

Wayne Hart secretary of the Chateau Moose Lodge and Montana Moose Association vice president spoke at the Great Falls Moose Lodge first meeting in the Park Hotel. He outlined plans for the state program for the coming year and discussed Operation 57 to move the national convention to Spokane in 1957. He will meet Montana officials at Livingston next month to plan lodge programs. Hart is a past governor of the Chateau lodge and past noble north Moose of Triangle Legion 113.

Lightning sparks two acre fire near Birch Creek
Ranger Jack Hinman and 23 firefighters contained a blaze on Punch Creek near the head of Birch Creek ten miles northwest of the West Fork area. The fire started Monday night from an electrical storm and burned about two acres before fuels and wind subsided. Rocky barriers on steep terrain helped stop spread as crews plan weekend mop up with the West Fork fire guard assisting. Forest Service warns campers to stay cautious in the area.
