Choteau Flower Show Prizes Funded by Local Donors
About 700 businesses and residents in Choteau contributed prizes for the annual flower show hosted by the Choteau Woman's Club to be held Labor Day September 5. The committee led by Mrs. Gay Franklin and Mrs. Fred S. Willson canvassed the town, securing cash, merchandise, and services from local firms such as Texaco Service, Kemp Chevrolet, Chateau Creamery, J.C. Penney Co., and many others. The premium list will be announced next week as organizers finalize details and prepare for the event.

She's Prolific Animal the Black Widow Spider Exhibit At Store
Hampton Bloom, Chateau Mérchant, displays a Black Widow spider at his shop. W F Olsen, a store clerk, fed it grasshoppers and potato bugs in a pint jar and the spider produced two cocoons. About 75 to 100 young spiders hatched from one cocoon while the other was still developing. The baby spiders showcased surprising agility racing along the cobwebs.
Teton High School Opens September 6 with New Athletic Instructor
With three weeks to start of the 1938-39 term, Teton County High School prepares for opening on Tuesday September 6. Pupils may register in the afternoons through Labor Day with a $2 book fee due at entry. New faculty member John L. Dunckel will teach mathematics physical education and athletics, succeeding J Kent Midgett who is moving to Harlowton High School.

Sugar Beet Growers Seek Factory Decision by Sept 1
A joint session of the Sun River and Pondera Sugar Beet Growers associations outlined contracts for over 10 270 acres to grow beets in 1939 across Pondera Cascade and Teton counties with several hundred more in the Judith Basin. They urged Utah Idaho Sugar Co to commit to building a factory, warning that no answer by September 1, 1938 would be treated as a negative and lead to talks with other processors.
