County fair plans advance with strong local support
Plans for Chateau county fair September 10 to 13 are nearly complete. Citizens have raised 1500 dollars and the county commissioners added 1000 for state fair exhibits. The premium list is at the printer and will be issued soon. Premiums will be liberal across departments. Amusement features will be detailed later. A representative is touring for exhibits and work continues until opening pay. Prospects are brighter than a week ago as late start is countered by extra effort.

Farewell Services By Rev Heizer At Chateau Charge
Rev G H Heizer conducted his final regular services on the Chateau charge. Both morning and evening congregations were large and showed marked interest. He will retire at year end and live on his ranch near Collins. He leaves the Chateau congregation in excellent condition with growing membership and sound finances. The church rooms will be repapered and improved. Community wishes accompany him and his family.

Bids are being received for one million feet of lumber to be used in constructing the Sun River diversion dam and its canals and tunnels. The contract requires 100000 feet of lumber sawed per month. Logs expected from the Lewis and Clark national forest.

County to study two new steel bridges on Park to Park road

Attorney Magee Acquitted in Helena liquor charge
Geo W Magee of Dupuyer was acquitted in a Helena federal court last week on a charge of supplying liquor to Indians. The prosecution arose from Indian discontent with Magee for aiding the county attorney in an Indians case.
