R E Nelson of district 37 reports that Lions International held one of its finest conventions in New York City. About 30 000 Lions from around the world attended at Madison Square Garden from July 25 to 29. European representatives attended for the first time, with Gene Briggs, president of Lions International, also appearing at the Calgary district meet. Nelson arrived early for the trip and was away ten days, flying there.

City Council Raises Levy Two Mills For Cemetery Fund

Augusta Rancher Adolph Olson Dies at 67 on Tractor
Adolph Olson, 67, a rancher living near Augusta, died suddenly Tuesday evening while driving a tractor on his ranch. Born January 19, 1881 in Freeborn County Minnesota, he homesteaded in Teton County and has lived near Augusta for ten years. Survived by wife, daughter Phyllis, two brothers Theodore Olson and Ole Severson, and sister Emma Wills. Funeral set for Friday at 2 p.m. at Community Church in Augusta, burial in Augusta.

Extra Gang Worker Killed in Accident At Dutton
Harry Toppala a 59 year old extra gang hand from Calumet Michigan was found dead about 300 feet north of the Great Northern station in Dutton Tuesday morning July 27 Coroner G L Banks said Toppala was intoxicated at the time of his death He apparently attempted to board the fast freight at about 130 am or walked into it and his death resulted from injuries He had been working with an extra gang at Acme about eight miles north of Dutton He is survived by a sister Mrs M A Defillipa of Calumet Michigan Burial was in the Choteau cemetery

Pier Fabrick 95 Dies in Great Falls Montana
Pier A Fabrick aged 95 died Saturday evening in a Great Falls hospital after a three week illness. A Montana resident since 1908 and Choteau since 1940 he was born July 6 1853 in Holland and married Greta de Ruyter in 1874. Funeral services and burial were arranged in Bozeman. He is survived by seven children 19 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
