Work To Start On Milk River Irrigation Project
Supervising Engineer H N Savage says construction begins immediately on the Milk river irrigation project. A 70 ton steam shovel and a 60 ton drag line scraper move to the canal line and may operate soon. A power plant at the canal crossing on St Marys river will power construction. An 80 mile road to Browning will connect dam site with supplies freighted from there. Indians will be employed on the road.

The secretary of agriculture adopts a new rule requiring advance payment of grazing fees for stock entering national forest land. Approved applicants may defer up to sixty days but must pay 20 percent extra before permit issuance. The 20 percent surcharge applies to delinquent prepayment starting with the 1913 grazing season.

Let Contract For Simms Bridge Awarded To Midland
Cascade county commissioners awarded the Midland Bridge company the contract to build the Sun River bridge near Simms after twelve bids. The Midland bid was 12430 dollars and the project must be completed on or before December 25. One third of the cost is to be paid by Ton county per agreement.

Longtime Choteau Resident Harry Haymes Dies in Great Falls
Harry Haymes died Saturday morning at Columbus hospital in Great Falls after long illness from heart disease and tuberculosis. He lived around Choteau since its early days and was a Democrat and former justice of the peace. He leaves two children and three stepchildren, with orphaned or fostered youths from St Ann's and Haskell Institute. His remains were moved to Chateau cemetery for 11 a m burial conducted by the W O W lodge, of which he was a member and insured member.
