A report from a reliable source claims the Milwaukee railroad has purchased the electric line franchise between Great Falls and Chateau. The Acantha cannot verify the report, though stronger evidence now supports the rumor than weeks ago.
Farmington resident Miss Laura Satre visited friend Alma Daley last Sunday. Construction began on a Collins butcher shop. William Lyons traveled to Canada this week. Vaughn family twin sister and husband from Kalispell visited here. Mr. Sandberg spent Sunday with family.

He is a former resident of Chateau and Browning, son of a Blackfeet trader, and a Carlisle graduate who worked as a lumberman cowboy and surveyor before settling in Oklahoma in 1898.
Raymond Elmer Rowland and Pete Kelly of Bynum visited friends on Sunday. May LY Bean, ill at home on Dupuyer creek, is being taken to Conrad for treatment. Katherine Campbell and Leigh from South Dakota are spending a few days at the Beach with C Campbell and family. J G Collins came from Dupuyer last Sunday. Anme Knowlton and Mol ythe McNeal are the latest grippe victims. A large room is being added to the schoolhouse with Mr Fincher as contractor. Mrs Knowlton visited Mrs McNeal on Wednesday. The post office inspector paid a short call to the ray mond postmaster last week. Automobiles are becoming common on the main streets of Raymond.
Fairfield W. D. Luther collected polls and listed taxable property in the county last week. Otto Teubert went to Walier for work with the company. The Flowerree outfit camped at the Healy buttes with 1000 cattle, headed for the summer reservation. John Langwald and August Teubert visited Sunnyside, returned midweek. J B Maurer moved his family from Radcliffe to a ranch near Power at week’s start. Mrs Chas Davis recovered from illness. Andrew Muison moved his family from Great Palle to a beach ranch. James Innes of Chateau conducted the census in the area this week.
Department of the Interior informs heirs of John A. Carlstar of contested Desert Luna entry Ser. No. 01391 filed Oct 1 1908 for land in section 10 T25N R4W. Contestant John M. Weaver alleges Carlstar died Jan 8 1909 and failed to submit first yearly irrigation proof. Hearing set May 17 1910 in Great Falls with appearance May 10 1910 in Choteau, Montana.
Notice to stockholders of Eldorado Co operative Canal Co that an April 2 1910 meeting levied a one dollar per share assessment. Payable by June 15 to W W Gamble secretary treasurer at Hirschberg Brothers bank Choteau Montana. Unpaid shares by June 15 will be sold July 2 1910 at 2 pm at the courthouse front door Choteau to cover delinquent assessment and costs.
A well attended Sun River Sanitarium meeting at the town hall organized the Sun River Sanitarium Association. Officers chosen: J. Delluas president EB C Jarrett secretary P Ghompson treasurer. A 75 member base and a $5 initiation fee with $2 50 annual dues were set. The group aims to build and maintain facilities at Sun River Hot Springs and aid game protection on the Lewis and Clark National Forest. A two room cabin, free bathhouse, 80 acre forest pasture lease, and planned improvements are noted with forest service policing. Members urged to join via I C Gar Pell Secretary Cuuteau Montana.
Belleview Robert Twiggs and Joseph Baart sold their ranches. Bob H. Miller delivered potatoes to Chateau Friday and returned Saturday. Denson and Sibert visited local ranches last week. Frank Salmond sold his cattle to Denson. Dr. Malone visited Willow Creek ranch last week. Robin Twiggs sold sheep to Great Falls Meat Co. Clara Richards visited friends Saturday and Sunday and returned to Choteau Sunday evening. Mr and Mrs J R Young traveled to Choteau Saturday, returning next day.
Farmington reports Miss Kringsberg and Rev. Knutson as solid visitors last week. The Farmington school closed an eight month test Friday. Rev. Wachsmutt held services on the Beach Sunday. Miss Josie Peterson leaves for Great Walls Wednesday then Minnesota for vacation. Miss Tina Guinnemoen of Dawson Minnesota attended Bench duties last week before heading to the Falls. Luther League set to meet with Misses Sella and Blanche Peterson on May 4. Farmington baseball team brushing up and ready to face strong competition state wide.

Directors of Brady Irrigation Company in Chateau Montana levy the second of five dollars per share on capital stock payable by May 24 1910. Unpaid shares by May 31 1910 will be delinquent and sold at public auction on June 11 1910 to cover the delinquent assessment costs. Kenneth McKenzie secretary treasurer. First pub April 21 1910.
The Montana Telephone company with exchanges at Choteau Conrad Wa lier and lines to Dupuyer Shetbs Colling Barmington and Cut Bank joins Automatic Telephone of Great Falls. Kingsbury of Dupuyer is president and Drake of Choteau secretary. Possession June 25 with partial operation through July 1. Automatic to extend line from Cut Bank to Havre expanding control of Seton county and surrounding territory.

Dr. Long traveled briefly Tuesday afternoon from Great Falls to Walier in a newly bought Reo from Stephens Automobile Co. Byron Carson returned Tuesday from Great Falls with word of securing the agency for a well known automobile during his trip.
O C Miller of Bynum says he will not have lambs to worry about next season and is devoting all his time to farming, making him content with the change and hopeful for better yields.
Rev. Ernest Wachsmuth of Great Paris conducted Lutheran services in the town hall Sunday evening with a good sized congregation despite short notice.
Mrs. Henry Burrell and her daughter left for Lortland after a two week visit with Alex Burrell’s family. Will Burrell accompanied them part of the way but returned Tuesday.
Mrs. Anderson county superintendent returned from visits to Dupuyer Conrad and Brady finding schools in a flourishing condition. Julius Hirshberg far south and Helena on winter trip reports good health and praises Lon geach California. Golden Red creamery opens new dairy department including ice cream and plans power freezer. Kyle Jones and Edward Hodgskigs both from Jefferson County High School class of 1908 won first and second at the annual oratorical contest at State Agricultural College Bozeman last Friday night. Kyle spoke on Negro Problems and Eddie on Robert Morris. First prize was 20 dollars. They will compete at Missoula May 6 with Archie Leech and Kyle Jones previously honored.
Parties from Basin Mont who held an option on A J Cowell's Deep Creek ranch did not exercise the option at the last moment, forfeit the price, and Cowell proceeds to farm the property.
S C Acton and his brother Lem brought in a sizeable herd of horses from the Milk River valley starting Harlem. Some will be worked by Lem Acton and the rest sold. High school students rehearse for the play Mr Bob to be staged tomorrow in the assembly hall. John Lyon bagged a mammoth American Golden eagle, six feet three inches wing to wing, two feet ten inches bill to tail, a rare but nesting bird in the area.
Paul Jacobson reached home Saturday after traveling to Minnesota to buy dairy cows. He secured only one carload as other buyers were ahead. A large truckload will be sold in Conrad later. En route he faced one of the season’s severest storms, with his train halted three days at Devil’s Lake due to thick blizzard conditions. He noted the big drift is toward Montana and many emigrant cars head for the Treasure state.
Professor Linfield of the Montana Agricultural College addressed Bozeman high school students about visiting faculty plans. He noted the region’s rainfall, altitude advantages, and that dry farming may supplement but not replace irrigation, with one in five crops at risk of failure.
