A large crowd attended the first of five weekly Sweepstakes drawings. Mrs. Ed Wacker won the $25 first prize, Mrs. Stanley Brown took $15 for second, and Sarah A. Larson, though drawn, was absent, so the $10 third prize rolls into next week to total $20. Winners must claim in person within five minutes at Coast to Coast Store at 3 p.m. next Saturday.

Greg Curtis Wins Primary Election at MSU Bozeman
Greg Curtis son of Grant and Mrs Curtis of Chateau won the ASMSU presidential primary at Montana State University Bozeman. Curtis defeated his opponent last week and faces the campus election today. Other candidates include Lyle Weist for Commissioner of Judging Teams and Diane Robbins for Commissioner of Social Affairs. Steve LaRance aided Curtis campaign with cartoons. Mike Ferris, former ASMSU president in 1967-68, is noted among Chateau residents.

Funeral Rites Held At Banks Chapel For J Ballantyne
James Ballantyne 96, longtime Fairfield rancher and building contractor, died Wednesday in Teton County Nursing Home Chateau after 14 years as patient. Funeral Saturday at Banks Chapel with burial in Chateau Cemetery. Survivors: son Robert, two grandchildren, four great grandchildren. Ballantyne born Toronto 1873, moved to Fairfield 1923. formerly worked in Minnesota and North Dakota. He married Annie Rohme in 1903 in Minneapolis. she died 1926.

Percy Edgar Hodgskiss, retired Chateau area rancher, died Monday afternoon in Teton Memorial Hospital after declining health. Funeral services Friday at 2 p.m. in Banks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Ian Smith and Choteau Lodge No. 44 AF&AM officiating. burial in Choteau Cemetery. Hodgskiss, born February 8, 1889 in Herefordshire, England, came to America in 1907 and moved to the Choteau area in 1914 to ranch on Deep Creek. never married. He belonged to several Masonic and Shrine bodies and helped build the Bynum Dam. Surviving nephews Henry Wilson Hodgskiss, Lloyd Hodgskiss, and George Hodgskiss, all of Choteau. Malcolm Hodgskiss of Hamilton, Ontario, and others in England.

One Man Dies In Train Auto Crash At Power
A train car crash in Power killed Oscar Johnson 85 and injured Hilma Johnson 77 and Frankie Roberson 74. The wreck occurred at 7 12 pm Sunday April 20 as a freight train hit a car traveling about 15 mph. Oscar Johnson died at a Great Falls hospital while Hilma Johnson and Mrs Roberson were listed in critical and satisfactory condition respectively.

Funeral Rites Held Tuesday For Pfe Hood
Pfe Roger William Hood a 20 year old son of Mr and Mrs George Hood of Choteau died in Vietnam from wounds in action in Tay Ninh. He was born January 26 1949 and entered service in 1968. Funeral services were at St Josephs Church with Fort Lewis Army Base firing squad and Choteau American Legion members taking part. He is survived by his parents sisters and brothers and many uncles and cousins.
