The Choteau American Field Service chapter sponsors an art exhibit and sale Sunday from 1 to 5 pm at Choteau High School. Admission 50 cents adults and students, 25 cents for children. Proceeds fund a foreign exchange student next year. About 26 local artists display paintings ceramics and more with a 10 percent commission on sales to AFS.

Cancer Society Launches Fund Raising Crusade
The American Cancer Society on April 1 launched its 1969 Crusade to promote regular cancer checkups. The effort includes 45 million leaflets nationwide and aims to reach every Teton County family in person through volunteers. Pfc Roger W Hood Killed in Action in Vietnam
Word reached this week that Pfc Roger W Hood died of wounds from stepping on a mine in Vietnam. He was evacuated to a military facility and died shortly after, already a Purple Heart recipient from prior action. Son of Mr and Mrs George Hood of Choteau and a Choteau High School alumnus. Funeral arrangements pending body arrival.

Red Cross Drive Totals Fall For Chateau Community
George H. Higgins announced Chateau residents donated 238.90 as part of a 506.20 total. The Great Northern Railway Co gave 50 dollars and local businesses added 127 dollars while rural residents contributed 90.30. Higgins expects more from outlying areas soon.

The Eureka Reservoir Recreation Area announces its annual work day to be held Sunday April 20. The U S Forest Service announces a motorized travel closure on several Lewis and Clark National Forest trails. Choteau Musicians Shine at District VI Music Festival
