The Dutton Dist 28 school board submitted a second petition to the county clerk seeking division of Te ton county into high school bonding districts. It asks the county commissioners and the county superintendent to divide the county, outlining districts for Dutton Power Fairfield Chateau, with 303 signers from Dist 21 and others backing the plan.

Death Claims Harvey M Read Great Falls Leader
Harvey M Read 54 longtime Great Falls resident and former Choteau boy, died Monday at his home after a prolonged illness. He served 14 years on the city council and was superintendent of the Great Falls Coach Lines Co. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery after funeral at First Methodist Church. He was born September 19, 1883 in New York and moved to Montana in 1886. He leaves a widow two sons a grandson two brothers and a sister.

Burns to Join Montana Citizens Group With Governor

Choteau Seeks $3829 WPA Grant for City Improvements
Choteau applies to the Works Progress Administration for a $3,829.50 grant through the Great Falls zone office to fund street, alley, sidewalk, path, and curb work. If approved the city would contribute about $1,314.50 in non-cash credits, with labor provided by PWA and only cement costs potentially charged to property owners.

Grizzly Station to Be Formally Open Friday
The new Grizzly service station in Chateau will formally open Friday with flowers for ladies, smokes for men, and balloons for children. The Northwest Refining Co. built it at Cut Bank at about 7500 dollars investment. Wallace Motor Co. leases the station and T. J. Dellwo joins, leaving his post as under sheriff.

The Sun River Teton Masonic Welfare association held its first 1938 quarterly meeting with about 60 attending. R E Nelson of Chateau was elected president for the year. The program featured public school week observations with music by local high school students and an address by attorney Chas Davidson praising public schools and democracy. 4-H spring council meeting outlines picnic and baseball plans
About 26 4-H leaders plus an assistant met at the courthouse for the spring council. Chris Swenson presided as president and led a session on outside 4-H activities including the all-county picnic set for Sunday June 19 at Dutton Lions Park. The group voted to run concessions to reduce costs. A baseball sub-committee of Paul Rice Art Habel and a Fairfield Greenfield member will draft a schedule and notify the county agent for inclusion.
