Best Time for Corn Planting May 1 to 15
Under Montana conditions the period May 1 to 15 is advised for corn planting says Ralph D. Mercer extension agronomist. He notes the crop fits rotations on irrigated and non irrigated land and often yields more feed per acre than alternatives. Frost damage is minimized since corn can recover and still produce well. A bushel seeds 10 to 15 acres on non irrigated land and 6 to 8 acres on irrigated land.
