Miss Darlene Shelmerdine, a 1958 Chateau High School graduate, was inducted into the Phi Sigma honorary at Montana State College. A senior in secondary education, she studies zoology and entomology, belongs to Alpha Omicron Pi, and has served on Exponent staff and in women’s student groups.

Equipment bought with show money through Soroptimist event
Proceeds from the Chateau Soroptimist style show were donated to Teton Memorial Hospital this week. Funds were used to purchase a surgical clamp restraints and portable suction pump, at the hospital's request. An extra $100 was given to the Chateau Lions club pool filter fund. Mrs. Chester Abbott thanked the public for supporting the Soroptimist donations.
Auxiliary Food Sale Nets 110 Dollars for Lions Pool
The Chateau VFW Auxiliary food sale last weekend netted about 110 dollars. Proceeds support the Lions Pool filtration system fund and augment money raised two weeks earlier at Lions Pool day.

Peck Takes Students On Sociology Tour
Charles Peck and 34 senior sociology students from Choteau High School left at 5 am Wednesday on an all day field trip. The group visited Deer Lodge and Warm Springs to observe the penitentiary and asylum and returned to Choteau Wednesday night.

Roping Club elects leaders and trophies awarded
Joe LaRance was elected president of the Chateau Roping Club at the season’s first meeting. Les Wedumi became secretary-treasurer. Wayne Gollehon won first in calf roping and earned a trophy buckle. Gollehon and LaRance shared first in team roping. Russell Larson took second in calf roping and received a breast collar from George Ortner.
