Fire Destroys Landmark Barn in Chateau Quarter
Fire of unknown origin destroyed an old barn behind the Sterling McDonald residence in the south end of Chateau Sunday morning. The landmark structure burned rapidly before the fire department arrived. S. Maccany, a tenant, lost a Ford automobile stored in the barn and had no insurance on the car.

Woman's Club Calico Dance Slated At K of P Hall
Plans for a calico dance by the Woman's Club set for April 30 at the K of P hall with 50 cent admission and a 50 cent penalty for wearing attire other than wash dresses. Arnold Baker returned to Sunburst after a few days in Chateau. Mrs. Frank Hirshberg and her son Joseph Frank of Fairfield left Friday for Seattle to visit her parents.

Walter Bright Sued Over Oil Venture Near Choteau
Jon B. Ritch and 48 Lewistown and Great Falls residents filed suit in Teton County at Choteau alleging Walter Bright misused a $30,000 drilling fund. Plaintiffs seek return of $2,000 and a restraining order on Bright’s dealings in company acreage while noting 12,000 acres of leases held. New trustees were elected and contracts were entered for drilling at the Jones ranch and Larson well.

A train of 24 cattle cars left Great Northern with 500 head bought by C E Miller Divide Montana bound for Miller ranches in the Big Hole Basin. Vault Robbery Leaves Unknown Loss in 70 Boxes
Early Wednesday morning bandits broke into the vault at Furst National Bank and looted 70 safety deposit boxes. They cut Valier off from outside lines and ordered telephone operators to stay quiet, escaping in an automobile. Four or five men likely involved. no shots fired, no clue or arrests yet. $200 in silver and currency left atop the safe.
