The Montana High School Association unveils a Class B realignment dividing teams into eight districts and four divisions for football and basketball. Chateau, Browning, Chinook, Conrad, Cut Bank, Fort Benton, Malta, Shelby compete in District 3 Division 2. District 4 includes Bigfork Eureka Missoula Loyola Rowan Stevensville Troy. Basketball districts mirror football with top four advancing to divisional tournaments then state. Parkway Cafe Opens in Chateau by Greenwood Family
Mr and Mrs Jim Greenwood of Wisconsin Dells Wisconsin opened the Parkway Cafe in Chateau on Easter Sunday after purchasing it from Paul Lee who ran the business for four years. The couple moved with their 10 month old son Mark and will operate from 6 a.m. to 8 30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays with staff Ida Jaconetty and Jean Denison assisting. Greenwood and his wife recently relocated from Wisconsin Dells where he worked as head chef for four years.

Fairfield Wins Two All Star Bowling Events
Fairfield wins both the men s A team and women s division in the Choteau Fairfield All Star bowling playoffs. Choteau A team led early with a 1008 first game but Fairfield lanes favored the winners as they posted a 5437 total to 5269. Art Schmidt led Fairfield with a 1248 series including four 200 games, high 245. Sundet and Southard also contributed strong 1200 plus series for Choteau teams.

Lyle Otness the American Legion rodeo chairman announced the Legion has again contracted Kesler Rodeo Co to furnish stock and present the annual July 4th rodeo in Choteau. Kesler Rodeo Co is among the region’s top rodeo producers and has staged the Choteau event for several years. Otness said several more preparations will follow before the holiday rodeo.
