Daniels and Prairie counties have surpassed their quotas with large bond purchases. Daniels raised 250000 in E bonds plus 70000 in F and G series, exceeding its 210000 target. Prairie, the state’s smallest, surpassed its goal before April 10. Teton totals 371456 across all bond series.

Obert Peterson and his wife journeyed through California Oregon and Washington for three weeks returning to Chateau last week. They stayed in Sacramento with son in law and daughter D R Morris and met former Chateau locals including Elsie Ellingsen Whitie Tryon Rex Osborn and Duzie Morgan. A visit to George Benedette in Portland followed along with stops to Arlington Seattle Everett Tacoma and a sister in law Selma Sontra. They also met Chateau natives Harry and Noreen Ferguson in Tacoma.

Wm Fluhr of Belt announces Clarence F Shelstad will become the new butter maker and foreman at the Choteau Creamery replacing George Gunther who served 19 years. Shelstad, raised in Coopertown North Dakota, has dairy experience in Bozeman and elsewhere and will relocate with his wife and two young daughters. Gunther resigns this week with duties ending Saturday. he has no definite plans. Mrs Gunther is Lena Mozer and they have two sons. Gunther active in American Legion. Mrs Gunther presides Legion Auxiliary.

Blue Cross Meeting Planned in Choteau Friday Night
Sterling DePrata, president of the Teton Memorial Hospital association, says a public meeting on the Blue Cross family hospital service plan will be held at the Choteau courthouse Friday evening April 13 at 8 o clock. The meeting, sponsored by the Fairfield Bench Health association, outlines that Blue Cross is nation wide, non profit, community sponsored with one enrollment date each year and open to rural residents as well as towns. The program notes Blue Cross has operated in Fairfield for three years and cites about 14 000 members in the state.

Purple Heart Award For Bruno Family Amid Service Notes
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bruno received a Purple Heart from their son Albert Bruno Jr who has served in Germany since last March. They also received a map showing his postings. Pioneer J R Young Dies in Great Falls Hospital
J R Young 86 a Teton county pioneer died Friday at Deaconess hospital Great Falls from heart failure after a brief illness. A lifelong rancher and Chateau resident he helped transform the county with farms roads schools and churches. He is survived by wife Edna Fensome, sister Belle Neucher, several nieces and nephews. no children. Funeral Monday at Masonic temple with G L Banks directing.
