At last Thursday's school board meeting six teachers were hired for the next academic year. Several resignations were submitted including from Jane A. Mathews home economics head and others. The board left the dormitory instructor vacancy to be decided by the committee chair and members.

Body of Joe Schlack Buried in Great Falls
The body of Joe Schlack killed Wednesday at the Harry Odenwald ranch was moved to Great Falls Friday and laid to rest in a local cemetery. His sons from Virgil le arrived to arrange the funeral. Schlack was born in Germany on July 4 1864 and his wife and mother died in South Dakota years ago. The coffin showed a broken right leg a fractured skull on the left side and several right side ribs.

Dutton School set to vote on 29000 bond issue
The Dutton School district No 28 schedules a special bond election for Saturday April 28 to decide if a $29,000 issue may be issued to build an addition. County Clerk W H Webbs will verify petition signers against the qualified voter list after registration closes Friday April 13.

Funeral for Mrs Ed Halberg Held Monday
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church for Mrs. C E B Halberg who died Friday at her brother John Holm’s home near Bole. Interment followed at Chateau cemetery. She was born August 8 1885 in Tradelake Wisconsin and was 42 years eight months two days old. She moved to Montana in 1910 homesteaded near Bole and married C E Halberg four years later. Surviving are three brothers John Holm Charles Holm Alvin Holm two sisters Mrs Wm Johnson and Mrs Mary Hane and her husband. She was a member of the A O U W lodge at Fairfield.

Funeral of Lavina Crawford Ford Held Here Friday
Funeral services for Lavina H. Crawford, 15, daughter of Mr and Mrs John Crawford of near Collins, were held at Chateau cemetery with Rev E R Kaemmer officiating. A church choir sang and floral offerings were large. She died suddenly of spinal meningitis after feeling ill following chores. She is survived by her parents two brothers Lyle and Alvero and sister Ivy. Lyle attends Teton County High School.

Pondera Well Reaches 2280 Feet in Pendroy
The Pendroy well drilled by H B Chesser reached 2280 feet Tuesday night with about 400 feet to go to production. Cavings slowed progress and a fuel oil shortage forced a temporary shutdown last week. Fulton No 2 supplied oil, but bad roads hindered delivery. The first crude oil sale in Pondera County was to Wm Elliott for use at the Pendroy rig.

Genoa Pipe Line company filed charters in Cascade county Great Falls to build a nine mile pipeline from Bannatyne field to Collins in Teton county. The $50,000 project includes 4 inch pipe and 5,000 barrel tankage with start of operations planned by early June and initial daily transport of 300 to 500 barrels.

H L Halladay and son Ray returned last Saturday from California where they spent the winter. Mrs Halladay will not return for at least two months due to medical treatment there.
