Court adjourns after short March term session
The district court met for a brief March term and adjourned Monday afternoon after two days. State versus Be nott ended with a guilty plea to burglary and an 18 month state prison sentence. A divorce decree was entered for Orlando Thompson of Vali. Several naturalization papers were reserved for Jeroma Bynum of Norway Bonnett Gerritt Van Belle and Karl Perrson. Judge Leslie departed for Great Falls Tuesday morning.

Governor Norris to Address Public Meeting Tomorrow

Shooting Affray Ends in Death at Wagner Ranch
In the Sweet Grass Hills near West Butte on Sunday morning Albert Pratt, a longtime stockman, was killed after a confrontation with Ter Wagner. Witnesses say Wagner forced Pratt to cross a snow drift with a team, Pratt struck him with a whip, and Wagner fired five shots, three hitting Pratt. Wagner then surrendered to authorities at Gold Butte.

Butte Aldermen Face Split Vote In City Council Control
A campaign for aldermanic seats in several Montana cities produced mixed results. In Butte only one alderman favorable to a reform bloc was elected as three seats were ceded. Elena saw the socialist candidate lose to the Democratic winner by a large margin. Lewistown elected one socialist alderman but gained two others in a later recount. Missoula and Livingston voters weighed on Sunday liquor saloon openings, with both cities voting against opening. Bozeman rejected the commission form of government. Kalispell and surrounding cities debated electric utility franchises with mixed outcomes for the incumbents and challengers.
