Acreage around 7900 acres with estimates from 7300 to 7900. peak movement expected later but not as large as past years due to delayed plantings and light supplies anticipated this season.

Early Frost in Florida Not Damaging Crops Reported
Jacksonville Fla Oct 29 Temperatures in north and central Florida hit the frost point marking an unusually early frost for the state in 66 years. Frost occurred in the north and a short distance down the state but was light with no damage. Temperatures moderated early this week and conditions across Florida improved. Last week heavy rains had caused considerable damage especially along the lower east coast, but after the cold the weather cleared and growers are ready to plant fall crops.

Building Collapse in Minneapolis Kills Two
In Minneapolis on October 29 a three story Morris Fruit and Produce Company building collapsed. Two people were killed Anna Olson a book keeper and Max Zelickson died en route to hospital. About 15 to 20 others were injured including Ann Murphy the telephone operator and Ben Getlin the office manager. The disaster caused a citywide sensation with reports of as many as 23 injured or dead earlier.

Navels to Start in Central California Next Week
Reports from the California Arizona orange grapefruit agency distribution committee indicate a few Navels may move next week from central California likely the Edison district.
