Lakeland Florida October 22 The Florida citrus situation including the marketing agreement and citrus commission actions remains largely unchanged. Officials from the Agricultural Adjustment Administration reportedly drafted a compromise document addressing proration disputes between factions but have not released findings. They aim to unite groups before a public hearing, with debates over continuous versus limited proration and a shift in control under current federal law reducing the need for shipper coalitions.
Carl Gylling 52 of Alamosa and La Jara died in Rochester Minnesota after a serious operation. He founded the Gylling brokerage firm and worked with his brother Walter in Gylling Brothers Inc. at La Jara. He was born in Denmark and came to the United States at age ten. Survived by widow two daughters and two sons all of Alamosa. No changes expected in firm management or policy.

The Salinas-Watsonville produce men golf tournament will be at Del Monte October 28 to 31 with heavy attendance expected from California and Arizona. Qualifying rounds must be completed by October 27 and a Calcutta pool will be held that night. The annual dinner dance is set for October 20 at the Hotel Del Monte, and trophies will be awarded to winners with prizes to match. The event will feature teas and a special ladies tournament.
