Michigan navy bean crop damaged by weather says expert
In Lancing Michigan October 8 Professor W M Sheesmith of the Michigan Agricultural College reports the state wide navy bean crop has suffered losses totaling about eight million dollars due to weather. He warns next year growers may plant less and yields could fall to 30 or 35 percent normal. The Thumb region faces the heaviest impact with the bean crop usually worth ten to twenty million dollars statewide.
