FTC set Sept 2 hearing in 1938 anti trust case
Federal Trade Commission announces a hearing on September 2 in a major interstate price fixing case involving Mississippi Sales Company, Jobbers Produce Company, The Penny Stores, Buckley-Young Company, and several fruit firms and individuals led by S. O. Scott. The complaint alleges brokerage fees paid across states since 1936 violate the Clayton and Robinson-Patman Acts. The firms may be required to cease practices if the commission finds violations.
