Judge Carey states he will respond after reviewing the convention platform and resolutions. He says he was nominated as a Progressive Republican and endorses the platform, claiming it reflects the best ideas of the American people and should influence state administration.
At Colorado Springs on September 21 the Progressive wing won a decisive convention victory after a heated debate over the initiative and referendum plank. John B. Stephen of El Paso County heads the gubernatorial ticket with James H. Painter as lieutenant governor and James E. Carrigues for the supreme court among other nominees.
A crowd insulted the typist and police court watchers as Dr Hiewiey H Colboen and Migs Deneve faced trial for the murder of their wife Helle Elmore. Senator Newton reserved his defense while political figures urged Roosevelt in New York state politics.
W R Rod Bryant Cheyenne pioneer and Democratic clerk of the district court nominee died at 2204 Carey Avenue after a four month illness. He was 62, a native of Ellsworth Maine, longtime Cheyenne resident, former court clerk and Wyoming Lumber Company worker. Survived by widow Mrs Bimnia Bryant daughter Mrs Cole of Billings and four sisters in Helena Denver and Livingston. Funeral plans pending relatives’ word.

Delegates were instructed to back Roosevelt as temporary chairman and to favor direct primaries. William Barnes Jr. represents Schenectady on the state committee as a key Old Guard leader.
In a tighter race James A. Tawney, longtime representative and chair of the appropriations committee, faced renomination opposition led by Sidney Anderson. Roosevelt allies Pinchot and Heney backed rivals while Democratic momentum favored Buck, with an estimated 2,000 vote margin.
